About Schoolsworks – The Head Office Team
Schoolsworks is run on a day-to-day basis by a small but dedicated team of head office staff. The central team, as we like to call them, manage all of the finances and administration required to run an exciting and growing multi-academy trust. A full organisational chart including the Board, committees and local governance structures can be viewed within the Trust Documents on this website.
Trust Leadership Team
Chief Executive Officer
Chris trained as a lawyer, beginning his career as a general-practice solicitor, before moving to the voluntary sector where he worked in community projects. He helped to establish and lead a social enterprise, Peaceworks, which developed gold-standard peer mediation in schools.
In 2012, whilst Chair of Governors, Chris helped guide Edward Bryant School’s conversion to academy status. The experience led to the formation of Schoolsworks, now a 6 school MAT, and in 2014 Chris became its full-time CEO.
Director of Teaching and Learning
Cathy has spent all her career in primary teaching starting work in central London. Having taught in several diverse schools Cathy moved to West Sussex and 1991 became headteacher at Edward Bryant School. She also trained and worked as an Ofsted Inspector and saw Edward Bryant attain an ‘outstanding’ rating in 2010. Cathy has also worked in other schools in partnership with the local authority as a strategic headteacher. Cathy is a keen supporter of locality partnerships and is now a strategic partner in a local teaching schools alliance.
Nick has been Headteacher at Rustington since 2007 and was keen to become the first school to join Schoolsworks after its inception.
Over his career Nick gained a wide range of experiences in leadership, working in many contexts including rural and suburban settings, middle schools, church schools, junior schools and all-through primaries.
In 2005 Nick worked with two Governing Bodies to set up the first formal federation of primary schools in West Sussex. He passionately believes that good leadership lies at the heart of school improvement.
