Continuing Professional and Leadership Development

We understand the impact that professional development has on outcomes for all children. Therefore,

  • We are committed to providing the highest quality professional development.
  • We will offer a variety of CPD opportunities during the course of the academic year which will range from leadership development to subject knowledge development.
  • Our CPD is not solely in the form of delivered programmes but we aim to provide opportunities for collaboration and networking including secondments. We hope this will give colleagues the opportunity to learn from each other and embed outstanding practice in their own schools.
  • External participants are welcome

Sessions are on a Monday, on the third week of each month (except in Feb, Dec and July which will be the on the 1st week). At least 3 participants will be required for a session to run - if the session is cancelled then you will be notified by email.

Supporting teaching, enabling progress: for support staff

The materials provided can be used as a framework for an annual cycle of appraisal, as ad hoc units for personal development or to compliment existing in-school training.

Appraisal administration and documentation

The purpose of this appraisal framework is to improve outcomes for children by assisting teaching assistants to develop professionally and to improve their skills and performance.

Appraisal gives time to think about professional development, the opportunity to talk through ideas and to review working practices.

Aims:

 To enable teaching assistants to develop their knowledge and skills to best support pupil learning and welfare.

 To maximise the effectiveness of all staff by identifying appropriate training to support career development.

 To provide time and space for a wellbeing check in.
