Schoolsworks Community Primary Littlehampton
Our new school in Littlehampton (known as Schoolsworks Community Primary Littlehampton or SCPL) was approved by the Department for Education in July 2016.
We are now working hard to get the plans for the school in place. Although the site is still to be confirmed, SCPL will be based in the north of Littlehampton and will cater for 420 pupils plus a 60 space nursery.
The support of the local community and prospective parents was key in our application to open the school – and we received more than 380 signatures in support of our plans. In addition we received dozens of letters of support from local primary and secondary schools, businesses, local politicians, churches and other community groups.
About the School
Schoolsworks Community Primary Littlehampton would provide education to children from nursery age to 11 years. We will base the school on the successful models of our existing primary academy schools, and in particular on nearby River Beach Primary School.
SCPL will offer an extended day to allow room for developing and maximising each child’s potential. Every child will have the benefit of access to high-performing teaching teams who will mentor and guide pupils, enabling them to reach their individual aspirations.
An enriched and innovative curriculum will enable pupils to celebrate their own development through academic, creative, cultural and sporting activities. All teaching will be based on the National Curriculum, and will be high-quality, inclusive and community-relevant.
Please do check back to this page for updates on the school’s location, opening date and the application process.
